Action Renewables is widely recognised as the leading authority on renewable energy in Northern Ireland. Our aim is to facilitate, educate and advise public and private bodies on renewables. We support commercial renewable energy development, support and develop European projects, offer quality assurance to the industry and provide advice and information to Government.
The idea of becoming a partner in SMALLEST really appealed to our company as we already worked in the renewable energy industry. Our organisation was aware that rural communities in Northern Ireland were receiving very little independent advice and support in relation to renewable energy and that this was discouraging them from undertaking projects. We felt that our participation in SMALLEST would enable us to fill this gap and help provide local communities with the encouragement they needed to develop successful projects.
We hope that SMALLEST will leave behind a legacy of support networks that will continue to help rural communities overcome the challenges linked to renewable energy project development. We also hope that the project will highlight prevailing renewable energy barriers to policy makers and inspire them to address these issues.
